Slow It Down

June lands on my windowpane all too soon

A blue butterfly

One final cool breeze

Summer around the bend

I haven’t packed away Spring

Slow it down

The snow of winter falls on my knees

At the blink of an eye it leaves

Sia stuck in my head

Elastic Heart, catchy song

Dancing barefoot in the grass

With the insects and the ants

Tasting the music like it’s essential for life

Feeling the earth like it’s attached to my soul

Toes digging in the ground

Prolonging the moment

Making it last

The month will come and go

As will the season

All too soon

Savor every moment

Kiss with your eyes closed

Love with your heart fully open

Take it slow

All of it

Life

Love

Everything
