We've charged the battlefield with sword and shield all our years. Our strength feeling light as a feather most of the days. Then there are days they are too heavy to lift.
Strength will abandon us from time to time. But all we can do is wave a white banner of surrender. We lay under the sun, gasping for breath with bruised bodies and bloodied lips begging for it all to end.
Those days are the hardest, especially when you've been told over and over your strength never wavers. Some times it's a relief, to become weak and let go because being brave and having strength is exhausting.
Have your doubts, have your fuck it days, have your days to feel pity, have your days of weakness, have your days of saying it's not fair. This doesn't make you less of a warrior. It means you're a tired warrior needing to rest for now.
As we curse the gods with why me again. Your strength will slowly return. We refuse to be defeated and be told what to do. On bloodied hands and knees we will cross endless miles until we can stand again.
Our tears of hope will replenish our strength becoming nourishment to fight another day. This may happen more than you can count, but always rise even if it's with your last breath.
With time we hope our wounds one day will scar. We will find the peace we've been fighting for. We will be able to give our consul to new warriors just beginning to fight their battles.
In the end know you are a warrior, you claimed your victories, you did it your way. You went out fighting proving to the world you were a warrior leaving behind a timeless legacy.
